Mole Removal

Not all moles are marks of beauty. Birthmarks are created through the accumulation of skin pigment. Some of them are so prominent and characteristic that we learn to embrace them. Others, however, are unsightly and may have a negative impact on our psyche. Some types of birthmarks also present a certain risk of becoming malignant. If there is a mole that is bothering you or that you would like to get rid of, do not hesitate to contact us.

We will test your birthmarks

Some birthmarks should be preventively examined by a dermatologist. At the Brandeis Clinic, we use the patented DermDoc technology to diagnose birthmarks and skin growths. This modern machine can take detailed images of the mole within a few seconds; the physician can then select the most appropriate solution.
Birthmarks are removed either traditionally or with laser
The classic method, i.e. surgical removal, is used for larger birthmarks and whenever there is a suspicion that certain changes are occurring within the mole or that it grows. More comfortable laser treatments are selected for smaller and problem-free growths. For this purpose, we utilise the most advanced laser made by the US company Palomar.

Before the treatment

The procedure begins with a consultation with one of our physicians at which the next procedure is determined based on the diagnostics of a specific birthmark.

During the treatment

Both types of procedures are performed under local anaesthesia and as such are almost painless. Conventional surgical removal of a birthmark takes a few minutes; laser treatments only take seconds. After the growth is removed, the physician closes the incision with fine sutures that make the resulting scar invisible. After laser treatment, the wound is covered with a liquid bandage and does not leave scars.
Both types of procedures are provided as outpatient services. After the treatment, the client can return home immediately.

After the treatment

After surgical removal of skin growths, we will schedule an appointment for a check-up and the removal of sutures. Alternatively, we can use absorbable sutures. We know from experience that after the removal of growths on the legs, the recovery period tends to be slightly longer.
After laser treatment, the scab that forms over the wound disappears completely after 7-10 days.

Who can be treated?

The procedure is suitable for healthy adults over 18.
